Suddenly, I decided I wanted a blog. This surprised me since, in general, I resist technology. I do not have a page on a social networking site or even carry a cell phone. In my experience, such things are more distracting than they are useful. But in this case, I think a blog might be incredibly helpful as I attend many exhibitions and studio visits and often lose track of the artwork and artists I’ve seen.

Hopefully, this blog will not only be a record of what interests me artwise but also a place for me to work on ideas that I may eventually develop into full-blown articles or essays. And most importantly, I have only lived in Houston for a year, but I feel the need to express my love for this city. I never imagined that I would find such an intellegent, down-to-earth, and fun community in which to live and work.
